The WPA Arts Project in 1935 helped folks in the arts to devote themselves full time to creating public art and recording history. Writers published tour books celebrating every state.
More than 2,500 murals, 17,000 scupltures, 198,000 easel paintings and 240,000 art prints decorated hospitals, schools, courthouses, and libraries benefited from this federal project. The posters are my favorites.
