Our instructor par excellent Sarah A, is challenging us on Dialogue. The exercise is easy and informative.
Choose a piece of dialogue from your book. One you think is working pretty well....not perfect.
Make a document.
Post it WITHOUT taglines. Or exposition. Look at it. Remind yourself what tone you want the reader to infer. Think about what each character wants.
Then..........
add tags.
add exposition.
add IM (interior monolog)
Build from the dialogue out.
