Life Intrudes; Keep Going

Wow. Does life ever intrude!!
After a month of crazy, tragic, health-concern, job seeking chaos, I'm ready to finish my WIP.

Yes, in our family of four, in the last month we have experienced ER visits, Gallbladder surgery, job interviews/job acceptance, the death of a young, vibrant friend, Mononucleosis, issues of faith, arrest by police. I'M NOT KIDDING.

So, how do we writers get past the daily chaos and make ourselves WRITE?

There are books and books on the subject, but I have a theory.

Lots of Xanax. JUST KIDDING.

We have an urgency:  the stories we have to tell must get told.

Who among us doesn't like their protagonist or antagonist? And, we really like the way we write, or we'd just drop the demanding profession for another.

So, get a cup of tea, put it under your nose and let the fragrance bolster you. That's one ritual that helps me. Yours might be a steaming bowl of coffee, or aromatic oils. Whatever puts you in mind of your story, do it today. This minute.

Good writing!
