You are your Brand

Yes, as a writer with a social media presence, you are your brand. Always.

Here are some tips from Sarah Nego's blog on how people perceive you on social media.

If you go on your Twitter or Facebook with tirades, it's not professional.
If agents are checking out your platform, it's poison.
If you snag a potential publisher, they WILL check on your social ettiquette before committing.

So, don't put "Another Dz88#! rejection letter. That's the tenth one this week."
It sends the wrong message. If an agent is considering signing you and they check your FB. They see you've posted thirty times in the last month about rejections. Now the agent is reconsidering.
